History

Norfin’s sole business has been the management of direct real estate investments in Iberia.

After achieving long established careers in Banking and Civil Engineering/Project Management, João Brion Sanches and António Vilhena founded Norfin in 1999 in Lisbon, Portugal. They shared a common vision that brought together their complementary experience to create an approach to direct investing in Real Estate based on professionalism and excellence.

João and António were backed by two other non executive founders, Filipe de Botton and Alexandre Relvas. Filipe and Alexandre are renowned entrepreneurs in Iberia and internationally with a track record of success in several Industries, especially in the packaging Industry. They remain non executive shareholders in Norfin.

In 2006 Norfin opened the Madrid office incorporating Pelayo Primo de Rivera as the third executive partner and leveraging his investment banking, real estate finance and entrepreneurial experience.

Since its Inception, Norfin has developed and managed emblematic Real Estate assets in Iberia as is the Design Build and Operation of Office Park Expo, the largest and most modern office development in Portugal and one of the largest in Iberia.

In January 2011, Norfin and the Brazilian property group Alphapar established a 50/50 Joint Venture (Norfin Brasil) to expand the business to this country.

Euromoney has recognised Norfin as the best Real Estate Investment Manager in Portugal for 5 consecutive years since 2006.
